Before you attempt to repair a leaky black kitchen sink, you should shut off the water supply lines. To turn off water, find the shutoff valves under the sink and under the faucet. If they don't exist, you'll have to open the main water valve to relieve the pressure and turn off the water. In the meantime, you can install a strainer basket to prevent small parts from going down the drain.
